Fuerteventura / Canary Islands

Courses:

Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands. While the north is famous for its massive waves and surfing culture, the southern part of the island - home to our spot, Risco del Paso - is characterized by endless sandy beaches and strong offshore winds. Known as the "Island of Eternal Spring," Fuerteventura offers pleasant spring temperatures (around 20°C) year-round, making it the perfect escape.

Our upcoming camp includes structured BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE, ADVANCED and FREESTYLE courses, plus dedicated courses for KIDS and YOUNG GUNS.

Join us for an unforgettable windsurfing experience - we will arrange your all-inclusive accommodation, windsurf gear rental, and coaching sessions. Please note, that you are kindly asked to book your own flight to Fuerteventura.

WINDSURF SPOT & CENTRE

We’re stoked to host our camp at ION CLUB Risco del Paso, part of the same world-class network we partner with on Karpathos. The centre is a high-end playground, fully loaded with the latest Duotone boards and sails. What makes Risco del Paso legendary is its insane variety. The Lagoon: depending on the tide, a massive flat-water lagoon forms right in front of the centre. It’s like a giant swimming pool - perfect for beginners to find their balance and intermediates to nail those jibes. Speed & Freestyle: step just outside the lagoon and you're on a world-famous speed strip. If you love going fast or popping freestyle tricks, this is your spot. First Waves: feeling adventurous? A short tack upwind brings you to soft, chest-high waves. It’s the ultimate, low-stress introduction to wave riding. With endless sandy beaches and plenty of space, you never have to worry about crowds. In April/May we reccommend a long 3/2mm wetsuit.

Wind statistic for May: 75-80% of windy days // Force: Usually ranging from 20 to 30+ knots (accelerated by the local "funnel" effect) // Vibe: High-wind territory—small sails (3.7 m2 – 5.0 m2) are the standard for Risco del Paso.

FOOD & ACCOMMODATION

For this trip, we have chosen the All-Inclusive Aparthotel Royal Suite, located right next to the town of Costa Calma in southern Fuerteventura, just 900m from the beach. The spacious rooms feature a separate bedroom and a living area with a comfortable sofa, a balcony or terrace, and a private bathroom. Families traveling with little ones will appreciate the available baby cots, and children under 6 stay for free. Rooms are equipped with a mini-fridge, phone, TV, a rental safe, and free Wi-Fi.

The hotel complex features two adult swimming pools (one is covered and heated year-round), two children's pools (heated in winter), a jacuzzi, and a sun terrace. For the youngest adventurers, there is a playground and a miniclub for children aged 3 and up, operating 5–6 days a week. Sun loungers and umbrellas are free by the pool and available for an extra charge on the beach. Daily cleaning is provided, with towels and bed linen changed twice a week.

The hotel offers a full 'All-Inclusive' service. A buffet breakfast is served from 8:00 to 10:00 AM, and dinner from 6:15 to 9:00 PM. To make the most of your time on the water, we can arrange lunch boxes delivered directly to the windsurf center at a scheduled time. Alternatively, lunch is served at the hotel, and the all-inclusive service also includes snacks and light bites throughout the day. You can enjoy your meals in the fresh air at the terrace restaurant, while the Lounge and Pool bars are ready to serve you refreshing drinks and cocktails.

WINDSURFING COURSES & ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

We start our mornings on Fuerteventura with morning stretching and mobility, followed by an insightful video analysis to prepare you for the day's session. Windsurfing courses typically begin in the morning and transition into free surfing in the afternoon, allowing you to practice your new skills at your own pace.

If the wind takes a break, Fuerteventura’s diverse landscape offers plenty to explore. You can fill potential non-windy days with surfing the North Shore in the surf mecca of Corralejo or El Cotillo, visit the spectacular Corralejo Natural Park, where massive white sand dunes meet the turquoise ocean, make a trip to the west coast to explore the dramatic black sand beaches and prehistoric sea caves, visit Betancuria - a journey into the island’s heart to visit the charming historic capital nestled in a volcanic valley, or make a fun stop at the famous Popcorn Beach near Majanicho, where the 'sand' looks exactly like popcorn. Whether we are on the water or exploring hidden local gems, Fuerteventura never fails to impress with its raw, natural beauty.
