On Karpathos, our school is hosted by the well-established ION Club. Depending on the skill level of our participants, the windsurf camp takes place across two different locations. Experienced riders will find their paradise in Gun Bay, known for its strong and consistent wind. For beginners and intermediates, lessons are held in Chicken Bay (The Lagoon), which offers shallow, flat water and slightly mellower wind—the perfect environment for safe and rapid progression. Both centers are fully equipped with Fanatic and Duotone boards and Duotone rigs, ensuring premium performance on the water.

If you want, we can arrange your accommodation together with the rest of the group: in the family-run Barbarossa Apartments, perched right above Devil's Bay. These apartments for 3 to 4 people offer an authentic atmosphere, with Mrs. Fedra ensuring every guest feels right at home. Some units are even furnished in the island’s unique traditional style. The house is surrounded by a large garden and terrace, the perfect setting for our morning mobility sessions. In addition to Barbarossa, we offer accommodation at Ta Kymata Apartments, which are ideal for 1 to 2 people. Located between Barbarossa and Devil's Bay, their communal courtyard has become our primary venue for evening video analyses in recent years.

While all apartments feature their own kitchens, the true charm of Karpathos lies in its local tavernas. In Afiartis, you shouldn’t miss Anemos for top-tier home-cooked meals or the legendary Barbaminas, where you are always welcomed with a smile. For a quick snack between sessions, Baja Bar is the place to be. If you are looking for something truly special, the nearby Poseidon restaurant—with its high-end cuisine and Michelin recommendation—sets new culinary standards on the island.

If you take a trip to nearby Arkasa, treat yourself to the best gyros pita around, and in the capital of Pigadia, besides great pizzas, don’t miss out on a local specialty—the famous UFO. For daily essentials, there is a mini-market nearby, while larger supermarkets are approximately a 30-minute drive away.

We kick off our mornings on Karpathos with a mobility session on the terrace to prep for the strong winds, followed by our windsurf lessons in one of the bays. Evenings are dedicated to video analysis, where we review the day’s action and fine-tune your technique in a relaxed setting.

While windless days are an absolute rarity here, we spend them on SUP excursions or discovering the island’s breathtaking hidden gems together. A visit to the traditional mountain village of Olympos, where time has stood still and locals still wear traditional dress, is a must, as is a trip to Apella Beach, often voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean for its turquoise waters. Nightlife often finds us, as a stroll through the local windsurf centers usually reveals a BBQ party or a chill hangout with the global windsurf community.
